New Committee Member Appeal
What do these people have in common? - Professor Hugh Davidson, Sir Keith Mills (founder of Air Miles and Nectar Card, and Deputy Chair of London 2012 Olympics Organising Committee), the Marketing Manager of McLaren , Oracle’s VP of PR for EMEA, the principal of Peterborough Copywriting Bureau, Shell’s Corporate Affairs Director, and the CEO of Lycos Europe!
They have all presented at CIM Surrey events in recent years. If you want to meet and deal with such high calibre individuals, then it’s time for you to get involved with the management team of CIM Surrey. As well as meeting movers and shakers, you can also enjoy branch events gratis such as our recent visit to Denbies Vineyard, and the De-Stressing session at the Sanctuary. Furthermore there are opportunities with the CIM at a more strategic level via the Regional Board and attending activist events at CIM HQ Moor Hall in Berkshire.
We are looking for individuals to join our management team able to add fresh impetus at both Branch and Regional Level. There’s a lot going on including the organisation of events. On top of that we are looking for people with particular skills such as PR, managing the website, engaging with other professional bodies, colleges, universities and more.
Your initial commitment will be to attend team meetings on the first Monday of every month, and thereafter to put in the odd hour here and there to get events organised. You may end up representing the branch at other events in the region. The amount of time you put in is up to you as we are all aware that CIM activity has to fit in around the rest of your life.
In return there is the satisfaction in seeing events come to life, the opportune to make a contribution to your professional body, the chance to meet and work with a variety of high and low profile individuals. Plus it’s a great networking opportunity, an enhancement to your CV and your chance to have a say in the future direction of the CIM.
